Fragment of decorated gold foil

Cut small thin strip of gold, decorated with punched dots and with a hole in the centre of a rounded terminal. This piece was found associated with other scraps of precious metal, and was probably part of the stock of a metalworker. Originally it may well ave been the end of a fillet, or brow-band to hold a wimple in place, and dates to the early 13th century.
