Bramble-headed bronze stick pin
Bramble-headed bronze stick pin, with slight swelling in the
middle of the shaft. There are traces of tin-plating surviving in
the deeper grooves, so when in use the pin would have had a bright
silver appearance. It dates to the 8th century AD.
Stick pins were usually used to fasten cloaks, or occasionally
wrap-around jackets.
