Swiss Two-Handed Sword
This is the type of two-handed sword which would have been commonly seen on battlefields in the 16th century including Scotland which was going through violent upheavals at the time.
The baluster shaped leather covered grip is studded with scalloped brass nails and the quillions are slightly depressed towards the blade and also carry a pair of ring-guards on this example.
