Major Olaus Myrseth

Olaus Myrseth was a member of the Norwegian Forces stationed in Dumfries during the Second World War, and played an important role in the Scottish Norwegian Society.   He remained in Dumfries after the war, married a local woman, and formed a folk museum in the South and Townhead Church Hall.  His collection was amalgamated with that of Dumfries Museum in the late 1960s.
