Feeing Fair in High Street, Dumfries

Farm Servants in Scotland were engaged for a term of six months and when the six months were up either the farmer or the farm servant could decide not to extend the period, in which case the farm servant either arranged privately to go to another farm, or went to the Feeing Fair and there offered his or her services. This was a really bad system.
