Three piece wedding outfit

The three piece wedding outfit became popular in the mid 19th century.  This home-sewn example was created by adapting a day dress.  The grey satin bodice and extra decorative material was added for the occasion.  The second bodice was altered to upgrade it for the reception celebrations.
