Leather hat box

Oval, brown leather hat box with concave lid that belonged to Thomas Scott-Ellis, 8th Lord Howard de Walden. Hat boxes are used to transport and store hats safely and securely, and protect hats them from dust and moths. Many luxurious hat boxes are padded and lined with silk or other fine materials. This example is lined with blue and white striped fabric.
