Ladies sleeves (2)

White cotton sleeves decorated with hand embroidered broderie anglaise.  This form of decoration was made by cutting the material and sewing the raw edges.  Material was sold with various patterns pre-printed onto it, either for home workers or the needlewoman of the house.
