Ladies cape
The cape was a fashionable outer garment during the mid 19th century for both day and evening wear.
This short red cape is made in the circular style using one piece of cloth with no seams. The decorative border is made of woven silk in a Paisley design that flows around the hood and the body of the cape.
The pointed hood is embellished with two white and red tassels. The cape is fully lined and part quilted in white silk.
