Hand muff

Hand muff with dark brown fur, which is possibly mink, and a dark red cotton lining.   Nowadays, when the cold weather hits, men and women tend to wear gloves. However, during the 17th and 18th century, the handwarmer or muff was a popular choice. Later, in the 1900s, generally only women wore a hand muff, which was often prettily decorated with embroidered elements or luxurious furs.
