Edwardian bodice

This garment was made by Craig & Kyle Costumiers, Stranraer.   The high stiffened collar was a new fashionable addition to bodices in the early 1900s.  The use of pink and black was a popular colour combination of the time.  The bodice was puffed, layered shoulders with tight-fitting sleeves, decorated at the cuffs with lace, beads and sequins.  Bone is used for shaping and it is fastened with hooks and eyes.  The decorated lace panel provides secondary fastening.  The garment is machine-sewn with hand-sewn decoration and detail.
