Child's clogs
These wooden clogs were made by a local clogmaker in Newton Stewart. The leather uppers were shaped and clamped onto the wooden sole with iron studs. Clog irons were then nailed onto the sole of the clog. The clogs protected the feet well in poor weather and on rough ground. They were sturdy enough to shoe several children of the family over the years.
