Gloves in the Rose pattern, "EWM" at wrist

Example of Sanquhar pattern gloves in cream and brown wool to illustrate the "Rose" design. This is one of several variations on the Duke design known as 'squares'. The design was named in 1930 after the birth of Princess Margaret Rose.  The glove has the initials "EWM" knitted into the wristband.
