Coronet No.2 'Portrait Lens'.

This is a box-brownie style camera with it's original box.  Dating from 1935, this simple, English made, camera was no more than a cardboard box with a lens. Due to its cheap price it was very popular.   With the exception of the pin hole camera, the box camera is the simplest camera of them all. Introduced in 1888 by Kodak the early box cameras lacked focusing mechanisms and had no control over aperture or shutter speeds which meant that they could only be used outside in daylight. The introduction of the photographic flash allowed them to be used indoors in the 1950s.
