Swords

The Dean Castle collection has examples of swords that span the length of the last millennium.The earliest of these blades is a Viking war sword that dates from around the year 1000, although it has undergone some attempted restoration work during its long lifespan. The collection holds swords from all over the world, and includes pieces from Sri Lanka and Persia as well as many European blades.
