Burns Monument, Kilmarnock

This postcard shows the Burns Monument, in Kay Park, Kilmarnock. The monument commemmorates the life and achievements of Scotland's national bard and Ayrshire son Robert Burns (1759-1796). The monument was opened in 1879 and after a blaze in 2004, it was restored and expanded into a genealogy centre, the Burns Monument Centre, in 2009.
