Unicorn’s head

The unicorn’s head can occur in place of a stag’s head.    Until the Union of the Scottish and English crowns under James VI and I, the Scottish Royal Arms had two unicorns supporting the crest.  The unicorn was regarded as king of the animals.  It ruled through harmony, unlike the lion, whose power came from its physical strength.
