Mauchline ware money box

Barrel shaped wooden box with push on lid featuring a slot for money.  The black transfer print on the side depicts a city river scene, with the inscription "BROOMIELAW BRIDGE, GLASGOW" underneath.   W & A Smith of Mauchline, Ayrshire developed the manufacture of transfer printed treen, or wooden ware which became highly popular as gifts and souvenirs.
