Mauchline ware box

Large mauchline ware box produced as a souvenir to celebrate the International Exhibition of Industry, Science and Art in 1886.  The inscription reads: INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF INDUSTRY, SCIENCE & ART / EDINBURGH 1886.   The blue paper on the base of the box is characteristic of the work of Caledonian Boxworks, Lanark.
