Circular crocheted mat
Circular crocheted mat made by the wife of Provost Banks who
served Kilmarnock during the 1960s.
Crocketing is actually a relatively modern craft. The first
substative evidence for the craft dates to the 19th century, when
it was orignally practiced by Scottish peasants. However,
post-WWII, crocheting became a popular home craft for anyone to
enjoy.
