The Tearful Bride

Philip Richard Morris was an English painter who is known for his maritime scenes and genre painting, as well as religious images that were inspired by friend and member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood William Holman Hunt. Morris began studying art formally with evening drawing classes at the British Museum, and later at the Royal Academy in London. At the Royal Academy, he won a travelling bursary and used it to travel to France and Italy, staying in Europe until 1864.
