Side nan Seachd Sian (The Weather of the Seven Elements)
Eoghann MacColl describes his interest in landscape and
atmosphere in his own words- " While travelling up and down the
country the view-point changes from one place to the next. From
memory and observational drawing I try to capture our climate and
atmosphere. The changing light, the transience or the way
definition comes and goes. It is a collection of views. Sometimes
Ailsa Craig is clearly there, then it is lost, bleached out in the
sunshine or smudged in a smirr of rain".
MacColl was born in Inverness. He studied at Duncan of
Jordonstone College of Art and Design in Dundee and then in
Barcelona. He now lives in Ayrshire.
