Iris and Other Flowers
Katharine Cameron trained at the Glasgow School of Art and has
been classed as one of the 'Glasgow Girls'. Along with other
artists of this period, she absorbed the influence of Japanese art.
Her work consists primarily of watercolours and etchings. She
produced illustrations for books and is considered to be one of the
most gifted painters of flower subjects of her period.
Cameron came from a family with artistic leanings and was
the sister of the eminent painter and print maker, Sir David Young Cameron.
