The Geisha Girl

In 1893 George Henry and Edward Hornel travelled to Japan together. Both artist's produced a large amount of work during their visit, sadly however, much of Henry's work was destroyed on the journey home when his rolled up canvases stuck together.   Henry may have completed this canvas after their return to Scotland, working from sketches he brought back from Japan although it is inscribed "George Henry, Tokio".
