Window glass, Glenluce Abbey
Glenluce Abbey
A piece of rectangular coloured window glass known as a quarry.
One face is green and the other face is dark brown, probably the
result of oxidation.
Glenluce Abbey was founded in 1192 by Roland, Earl of Galloway.
Glenluce was a Cistercian abbey and was visited by a number of
Scottish monarchs travelling to St. Ninian's shrine at
Whithorn.
