Seal matrix (broken)
This is a seal of one of the Abbots of Dundrennan, which has been deliberately broken in half when taken out of use, to prevent its illicit use.
The broken lower half of a flat vesica shaped seal, with a ridged back. It bears a matrix impression depicting an Abbot with a crozier and text around the circumference of the design, which can be retored to read SIGILLUM AB'ET CONVENT DE DUNDRENNAN.
