Medieval carved stone head
A head carved in fine sandstone. It is broken at the neck and may have belonged to a full or free standing figure. The long, oval face with swept back hair and neck braid suggest a female head.
The head is unprovenanced but may have come from one of the local abbeys such as Soulseat or Glenluce.
