Cross-incised stone

Small stone with a deeply incised cross potent motif on one side, and a pocked and grooved circular motif on the other. It is not certain whether this was a votive piece made for a grave burial, or perhaps an open mould for metal-casting.    The date of the piece is not known, though it was recovered from an area of the Whithorn excavations full of 13th - 15th century graves.
