Lead basin or tank from the Stidriggs Hoard

The hoard was found inside a lead container.  Similar basins have been found in England, occasionally containing tools.  They are usually  made in two parts, a base and a wall.  The wall was rolled to form a cylinder and then melted to the base with a hot iron.   This basin was once suspended or had carrying handles because rivet holes and discoloration can be seen on opposite sides of the rim.  Any fittings are now missing but may have been of iron or wood.  There have been at least two repairs made to the base and lead patches are clearly visible from the underside.
