Penannular brooch

The settlement at Carronbridge was probably first occupied in the Bronze Age, and remained inhabited until after the Romans left the area around 400AD.  This brooch, although at least 400 years later in date, was found buried near the settlement along with a sword in its scabbard and a sickle.
