Letter written by J M Barrie to R A Grierson, Dumfries Town Clerk, thanking him with regard to the presentation of his Freedom of Dumfries Burgess Ticket.   Holograph manuscript letter, written on one side with the address pre-printed at the top.   Transcription:   31 Dec 1924   Dear Mr Grierson I have just returned from the country and find the casket and Burgess Ticket awaiting me, all safe.  I thank you once again for your great kindness to me in Dumfries, which helped to make my visit a very happy and memorable one to me.
