Victorian fake flint arrowheads
These flint arrowheads are Edwardian copies or fakes. They were made at Portrush in Northern Ireland and purchased for the Selby Collection.
There was a long tradition of faking antiquities in 19th century Britain. One of the best known or most notorious forgers was 'Flint Jack' from East Anglia who produced a wide range of fake stone tools.
