Belt
Belt consisting of gilt-brass plaques attatched to a leather
underbelt. There are twenty-one plaques shaped like letter I's with
concave sides and two similar plaques like capital I's dissected
vertically. These fit together around twenty-two oval plaques. The
I-shaped plaques are engraved with two pairs of stylised acanthus
leaves on a matted ground and the oval plaques with hexafoils also
on a matted ground. The free edges of these plates have an applied
border of roping. The main boss consists of a truncated pyramid
engraved to match the plaques and on the reverse are two hooks at
right angles. The plaques are attached to the belt by means of
eyelets on the reverse through which are passed three thongs. The
end of the belt has a small oval brass buckle.
