The Jean Armour Room, Burns House Museum

Robert Burns and Jean Armour lived in this room from March to December 1788. It was rented from Archibald Meikle, a tailor.  Soon after they moved in Jean gave birth to twin daughters but they both died within a few days. From June, Jean lived here mostly alone.  Burns was absent in Ellisland. preparing their new home to which they removed in December.
