Stonemasons Mallet used in the construction of County Buildings in Ayr

This mallet was used by Tam Jack, born in 1859, who became known as a gifted stonemason, with an expert knowledge of working stone. He was involved in many major constructions including the County Buildings, Ayr, Marr College Troon and St Nicholas Church, Prestwick. The 13th hole on St Nicholas Golf Course, Prestwick is named after Tam Jack.
