Set of egg poises, County of Dumfries, c1952
Set of egg poises or sizers, County of Dumfries, graded for size 'a'. Two sets of 8 eggs, an Inspections (E118) set and a verification (E119) set. They are stored in wooden box, with a brown velvet lined lid and a key in the lock. Each silver metal egg is inscribed with its size range and labelled A1 - H1 and AV - HV. They all have a verification stamp of 1952 and two adjustment holes at the tip.
