Photographs of Matthew Fowlds of Fenwick, Britain's oldest working weaver

Matthew Fowlds of Fenwick was the last hand loom weaver in the local area. He celebrated his 100th birthday in 1906, after a long career as a journeyman weaver. In celebration of his 100th birthday, around 300 guests attended a celebration, and he recieved a cablegram from Richard John Seddon, the Prime Minister of New Zealand.
