This is one of the earliest printed books.  Its printer, Anthony Koburger, was one of the most celebrated printers of the 15th century. He opened a printing works in Nuremberg in 1472 and  at the height of his activities he was runnning 24 presses. Between 1472 and his death in 1513 he printed over 200 books, amongst them the Liber Chronicarum of 1493 containing some 1809 woodcut illustrations.
