Horn Cups
Oxhorn beakers such as this came in a variety of attractive natural colours and were cheaper than ones made of glass. However, expensive horn beakers with silver rims and inlays were also produced.
These cups were produced in the Ayrshire village of Kilmaurs which exported horn items all around the world in the 18th and 19th centuries.
