Hay knife
This knife was used to chop hay out of the stacks. Solid blocks of hay were cut, working down with a chopping action from the top of the stack.
The knife has a side handle attached to a long broad single-edged blade. Some hay knives had a handle either side of the blade so both hands could be used.
