Coco-de-Mer
This relative of the cocoa-nut, which is larger than your head, is also called the Sea or Maldive Double Cocoa-nut and is the fruit of the Todoicea Palm from the Seychelles Islands. They are very buoyant and after falling into the sea they can be carried for hundreds of miles by the currents until they make landfall on another island and take root; by this method they are able to populate a whole series of islands and coastlines.
