Earthenware jug decorated with motifs from Glasgow's Coat of Arms

Salt-glazed earthenware jug decorated with motigs from Glasgow's Coat of Arms that incorporated a number of symbols from the life of the city's patron saint Kentigern, also known as Mungo. Many Scots living on the West of the country remember the symbols of the city's arms with the following short poem:   There's the tree that never grew, There's the bird that never flew, There's the fish that never swam, There's the bell that never rang.
