Whithorn
Whithorn's West Port looking down to George Street. This essential element in Whithorn's street plan was conserved in the 1960s only by a vigorous local campaign again a road-widening proposal that would have removed the house shown here with its gable on the street. The houses in the foreground, however, were demolished and replaced by buildings set further back.
