Glenluce

Glenluce railway station, which opened in 1861 with the opening of the Dumfries to Stranraer railway.  The inaugural train from Stranraer was met by the local brass band - and snow.  Later, in June, 1880, at the time of the Crown Inn murder, these platforms were crowded for the arrival of every train as local people waited (in vain) for a handcuffed suspect to emerge from one of the carriages.  The platform here displays some vintage advertising signs.
