Maeshowe Chambered Cairn, Orkney

Maeshowe is a chambered cairn that was built 5000 years ago during the Neolithic period. The Neolithic period was the final division of the Stone Age, and creating such a vast tomb would have been a great challenge for our remote ancestors who constructed the chambered cairn without the use of metal tools.
