Iris and Other Flowers

Katharine Cameron trained at the Glasgow School of Art and has been classed as one of the 'Glasgow Girls'. Along with other artists of this period, she absorbed the influence of Japanese art. Her work consists primarily of watercolours and etchings. She produced illustrations for books and is considered to be one of the most gifted painters of flower subjects of her period.   Cameron came from a family with artistic leanings and was the sister of the eminent painter and print maker, Sir David Young Cameron.
