United States of America Declaration of Intention (1)

U.S.A. Declaration of Intention form completed on behalf of A G Kristiansen (Christiansen).   Arnljot was born in Bergen, Norway in 1903. He was 24 when he boarded the steamship West Chetac from Bremen, Germany and sailed to New Orleans, Louisiana. In this document Arnljot renounced his allegiance to the Norwegian King, Haakon VII, and confirmed his intention to become a citizen of the United States. (The steamship West Chetac was built in 1919. It was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine on 24 September 1942. It was about 300 miles east of Trinidad on a voyage from New York to the Arabian Gulf. The Captain and 30 crew were lost.)
