Buiston Hanging Bowl

Bronze hanging bowl from Buiston crannog, Ayrshire, c. 550 - 700 AD.   This bronze bowl would have been suspended from three chains held by loops around the vessel's rim; two are now lost. Bowls like this were probably used at feasts for hand-washing.
