Shale bead, Portpatrick
Portpatrick
A bi-conical perforated bead of polished shale. Beads like
this, made in imitation of jet, formed part of complete and highly
decorative necklaces.
This bead forms part of the Anderson Collection and there is
some confusion about its actual find spot. It may have been
discovered at Luce Sands and not Portpatrick.
