Large bronze fish hook
Large bronze fish hook with barbed point. The other end has a
splayed terminal, to aid in securing the hook to the fishing line.
It was found in a 6th century rubbish heap.
A hook this large was probably for sea fishing, for large fish
such as cod or tope, or possibly for conger eels.
